One Million Voices

2008 will be a seminal year for OneVoice - potentially the most important thus far.

Now that the political leaders have committed to systematic negotiations for the first time since 2000, it is incumbent upon us, as citizens, to do everything in our power to ensure the success of this process - and thereby fulfill that the overdue aspirations of the Israeli and Palestinian peoples to end the occupation and all forms of violence, to permanently end the conflict with a two state solution.

We have exciting new events planned for this year - our 2008 programs will focus on empowering the grassroots and their leaders to take bold, critical steps toward a comprehensive agreement and a permanent end to the conflict.

OneVoice is launching new programs designed to create public awareness on the importance and the urgency of the current negotiations, inspire hope and activism among the people, and educate citizens on the negotiations process. The programs - including a countdown campaign, an essay contast, and a civic education initiative, will operate along the following tracks:

In addtion, OneVoice is re-initiating and scaling up its signature drive to gain one million signatories on the OneVoice Mandate - demanding that the elected leaders uphold their pledge at the Annapolis Summit to reach a negotiated two-state solution and end the conflict within one year.
